Frisco annual chili cook-off coming up

FRISCO – Frisco is asking local chili-lovers to get cooking. The Frisco Chamber of Commerce and the town of Frisco are inviting professional and amateur chili chefs for their annual chili cook-off on at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 8.The event will take place at the Best Western Lake Dillon Lodge, just off Interstate 70 on Summit Boulevard in Frisco. The Chili Cook-Off is open to the public for a $5 donation that includes beer, salsa and chili-tasting. This is one of Frisco’s most popular events, so organizers are urging attendees to get there early to make sure they get their fill.The competition is open to all Summit County residents. There is no fee to enter. Categories for official judging and “People’s Choice” awards include professional and amateur red, green, and vegetarian chili, as well as kids chili and salsa. Official judging is by a hand-picked panel of local self-proclaimed chili experts.The Chili Cook-Off is a part of Frisco’s Old Fashioned Christmas. Old Fashioned Christmas is sponsored by the town of Frisco, the Frisco Historical Society, the Frisco Chamber of Commerce, the Frisco Nordic Center, Two Below Zero Dinner Sleigh Rides, Krystal 93, KSMT and the Summit Daily News.To register for the competition, call Frisco Town Hall at (970) 668-5276, ext. 3076, to register by noon, Wednesday, Dec. 8.
