Frisco Bay Marina hosts Rock the Dock party Saturday, June 6
The Frisco Bay Marina and Island Grill are now open for the season. The marina currently has canoe, single and double kayaks and all powerboats available for rent, and stand-up paddleboards will be available starting mid-June. The Frisco Bay Marina is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Saturday, June 20, when the hours will change to 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. through the end of the season. The Island Grill is open seven days a week from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., weather permitting, with happy hour from 4 to 7 p.m.
In honor of the return of all things summer, the Frisco Bay Marina is hosting its annual Rock the Dock party on Saturday, June 6, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The celebration will include a $5 burger-and beer-deal from the Island Grill, free live music by the band Live to Tell, a chance to check out the rental fleet of paddle crafts and powerboats in addition to some Marina giveaways.
“It seems that summer arrived just in time for our season-kickoff party,” said Jenn Shimp, guest services manager. “We have a lot of new rentals this year, including new stand-up paddleboards, fishing boats and beautiful, larger pontoon boats. If you have never been to the marina, think of this as an open house where you can come and check out all we have to offer in a festive atmosphere with free music, giveaways and a great burger deal.”
The Frisco Bay Marina is a full-service marina offering boat storage and expert repairs, as well as slip and mooring rentals and a free boat-launch ramp. Current water levels have resulted in the closure of the boat ramp, but the ramp will likely reopen in mid-June. Classic boat tours, lessons, a rowing club, sailboat rentals and a water taxi between Dillon and Frisco are also available at the marina. The marina features a sandy beach and a playground with a large grassy area, and the recreation path runs through the marina for easy access on foot or bike.
