Frisco big box would destroy what’s here

We business owners of off Main Street, Frisco, would like to voice our concerns about the 9.4-acre parcel this town is so desperate to remove from its assets. Please keep in mind that any large hardware or building center will push out many smaller, locally owned businesses that together provide the same types of products, plus professional installations and service. These larger, nationally owned stores may generate a good tax to the town, but all other profit is not retained by the community, nor will the pay scale be as good as the locally owned and operated businesses currently at risk.As this county nears buildout, we feel this type of box store would degrade the lifestyle we all enjoy. Let’s not increase the need for affordable housing, but help our workforce rise to a more comfortable level by maintaining and supporting the individuality our current businesses offer.
