Frisco citizens are saying "No" to big box

RE: Big box in Frisco would present challenges to entire county (SDN Sept. 5)Bravo to Carla Zinn Rigger, for her excellent comments regarding Big Box retail. And, I concur with her comments. Ms. Rigger has reiterated what many of Frisco’s concerned citizens have been saying to town council for the past year. I have been made aware of many studies, which, across the board, have indicated how loudly big-box retail sounds the death knell for small towns. If these establishments are so wonderful, why have towns across the nation, Canada, and indeed Europe and Asia, been putting the brakes on such types of developments? Town council members need to be more responsible to their citizens, who, in the first place, not only elected them to represent us, but to do right by us.The people have been cooperative and taken part in your polls and forums; results have been in opposition to “predominant retail.” When are you going to listen?
