Frisco Historical Society offers talk, bike tour

The Frisco Historical Society continues its free, 20-minute noon-time lectures with a talk entitled “Frisco’s Fabulous Mines” by Charlotte Clarke. Learn about the mines that are right in town limits, their history and what you see today.The free talk is held at Chez’s Place at the Historic Park Gazebo. Call the Historical Society for dates and times at (970) 668-3428.A bicycle tour of the mines will be held July 11. The bike tour is about two hours along paved recreation path. Learn about Frisco’s mining heritage, visit the town’s only dynamite powder magazine and search for glitter on a tailings pile. Tour starts at 1 p.m. at Summit County Community and Senior Center at the County Commons. A $5 donation is requested.- Daily News staff reports
