Frisco hosts peninsula planning meeting tonight

FRISCO – Town officials invite citizens, business owners and recreation enthusiasts to comment today on new recreation facilities on the peninsula.The meeting will take place at 6 p.m. at the Frisco Recreation Building on Third Avenue behind Old Town Hall and kicks off Phase II of the brainstorming process for new facilities at the Frisco Peninsula Recreation Area.”We’ll talk about components like an ice rink, an amphitheater, possibly a ski jump, a little on yurt placement, and we’ll throw the current sleigh-ride camp into the mix and see what folks think about that,” assistant town manager Theresa Casey said.The design team of Paul Kuhn of Winston Associates and Bruce Flynn, architect with BRS, will review the peninsula land use plan and the existing proposal for the expanded Nordic center before taking public comments.
