Frisco lodging owners oppose proposed sales tax

We oppose the Frisco lodging tax on the Nov. 4 ballot – as it is currently written – because the allocation of tax revenues amounts to a poor decision.

The total Frisco tax rate needs to be below 10 percent overall, and the monies collected should be allocated entirely to promote the town through advertising.

The tax, as written, may only serve to decrease guests and therefore lower the town’s overall taxes collected.
