Frisco Marina restaurant aims for July 4 opening

FRISCO Local restaurateurs Bobby and Stephanie Kato will serve up salads and sandwiches this summer at the waters edge in Frisco Bay Marinas answer to the Tiki Bar.The Frisco Town Council approved a concessionaire agreement Tuesday night with the Tuscato co-owners, who are aiming to begin service in early July. The four-year agreement requires the restaurant, dubbed the Island Grill, to pay a commission to the town in exchange for the space and services it receives at the marina.The Katos will provide the restaurants furniture, fixtures and equipment. The town will fund the design, development and construction of a permanent seasonal facility and its restrooms prior to next summer. In the meantime, the Island Grill will operate out of a temporary structure.The council also approved concessionaire agreements Tuesday night for sailing and rowing operations at the marina.Julie Sutor can be reached at (970) 668-3998, ext. 203, or at jsutor@summitdaily.com.
