FRISCO – The Frisco Police Department hopes someone in the community has information on a recent burglary of four power paint sprayers.

Anyone with information can report it anonymously to Summit County Crime Stoppers and may be eligible for an award up to $1,000.Police Chief Tom Wickman said someone broke into the Sherwin-Williams store on Tenmile Drive on May 19. The thieves were very specific in their work, taking only the paint sprayers. They pried open the dead-bolted back door and used an axe or hatchet to cut the chain securing the sprayers, he said.

Wickman, a former Boulder police detective, said he saw similar crimes on the Front Range in which gangs would steal trade equipment to fence to contractors.”They were essentially filling orders,” Wickman said.

The airless paint sprayers included a ProForce 25, Ultimate NOVA 395, 440i and Ultimate Super NOVA 495 models. Their value is estimated at more than $4,000.Anyone with a tip can call Crime Stoppers at 1-(866)-453-STOP.
