DAILY NEWS STAFF REPORTSummit County, CO Colorado

FRISCO – In the interest of public safety, the Frisco Peninsula Recreation Area is temporarily closed due to extensive logging work that is occurring near the Disc Golf course and many of the trails. The gates will be closed Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. During the week, the trails and skatepark will open at 3 p.m. and remain open until 10 p.m. The trails and the skatepark will be open from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m. on the weekends. The Peak One Disc Golf Course is still closed, even after 3 p.m. on the weekdays, and on the weekends. According to Assistant Public Works Director Rick Higgins, “Our target date to open the disc golf area is May 25, in time for the Memorial Day weekend. However, at least six of the disc golf course holes are on Denver Water Board land and they will be continuing tree cutting until July 10. Therefore parts of the disc golf course may remain closed for a longer period.”The Town of Frisco thanks citizens in advance and apologizes for any inconvenience.
