Mark Gage, a senior planner for the town of Frisco, died Wednesday afternoon while riding his bike in Breckenridge, Summit County Coroner Joanne Richardson confirmed.

Gage, 53, had a significant medical history and appeared to have died of natural causes, according to the coroner’s statement.

He was riding his bike near Royal Tiger and Wellington Road in Breck when he apparently had a “medical event” and died.

A passerby found him and called authorities. Resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful and the coroner was notified just before 1 p.m. Wednesday, according to the statement.
