FRISCO – Frisco Police Chief Tom Wickman wanted to make sure that no Frisco children would be left out in the cold this school year.

On the first day of school, Wickman stopped by Frisco Elementary carrying four huge, plastic bags packed with winter coats and boots for the school district’s needy children.”Last winter, I saw a number of kids waiting for Santa at Frisco Historic Park, wearing only windbreakers,” Wickman said. “It was a very cold night.”

Wickman contacted a friend at Columbia Sportswear Company and arranged for the donation.”I don’t think there’s anything greater than helping out kids,” Wickman said.

Frisco Elementary’s new principal, Sharon Jones, accepted the donation on behalf of the school district.”We’re really blessed to have a community that cares about all our kids so much,” Jones said.
