Frisco Police Department says thanks

Chief Tom Wickman
Frisco Police Department

The Frisco Police Department would like to show its appreciation to the organizations that were a tremendous help with the Frisco Elementary Bike Rodeo on Tuesday, May 25 at the school. The folks from Podium Sports didn’t blink an eye at joining us for this event, and the care they gave each child’s bike was unbelievable! There are 180 children that attend Frisco Elementary, and better than 80 percent of those kids brought their bikes or scooters to school on that day. Brian and Kyle from Podium Sports in Frisco were more than enthusiastic about caring for each child’s bike, and did so with a hands-on approach to each bicycle and scooter!

We also have to thank the folks from the Summit Medical Center Health Foundation’s Think First program. Kelley, Shelly, Paula and company fit each student’s helmet and provided new helmets to those in need. Their enthusiasm to help with the rodeo was overwhelming. We are so fortunate to have such caring people and organizations in our county!

It was a great afternoon of police officers working with the community teaching the children about safety all while having fun in the sun!
