The Frisco Police Department is warning the public of recent incidents involving individuals loosening the lug nuts on vehicle tires.
On Wednesday, Sept. 27, the police department received reports of at least three suspected cases of second degree criminal tampering, the town said in a news release. The incidents reportedly occurred in the parking lots of the shopping center off Colorado Highway 9, where the Safeway and Walmart are located.

Reporting drivers informed police that they noticed a wobble or a noise in their vehicle and stopped to discover that the lug nuts on the tire had been loosened to the point they could be taken off using just their fingers, the release states. The Frisco Police Department said the reports have not included theft or any apparent intent to steal.
The Frisco Police Department has identified two suspects in these cases, a white female and a black male who appear to be driving a white BMW sedan, and is asking the public to assist in identifying them, according to the news release.
The public is asked not to approach or confront the suspects but to call the Frisco Police Department at 970-668-3579 between 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday to Friday or the Summit County non-emergency dispatch at 970-668-8600 outside these hours.
Callers should be prepared to provide the time and location of a possible sighting or the names of the suspects to police, the release states. In case of emergency, call 911.
