Frisco residents collect items for hurricane relief effort

Frisco resident Melinda Van Gundy and her husband, Woody, are planning to take a U-Haul of supplies to Slidell, La. for Hurricane Katrina relief. They plan to leave Oct. 7 or Oct. 8 and would like to collect as many provisions as possible – Calamine lotion, Neosporin, peroxide, pull-ups (not diapers), school supplies for all grades, clothes (especially new clothes to boost kids’ spirits), food, clothing, garden hoses, shovels, bed sheets, Ensure nutritional drinks, gift cards with pre-paid amounts to Wal-Mart and more. Contact Melinda Van Gundy at (970) 668-5628 or (970) 668-5300, ext. 305 to make donations.
