Daily News staff report

Join us for a meeting Thursday, from 7-9 pm at the Summit County Community & Senior Center to discuss: Summit County was once one of the leading mining areas in the state. While productive, the old mines have left quite a legacy of destruction on the environment. Join us to discuss implications of the past and future stream restorations. Summit County Open Space, featuring Brian Lorch discussing past reclamation activities; ongoing activities in the Snake River Basin with Lane Wyatt; Forest Service restoration plans with Corey Lewellen; Climax restoration activities with Bryce Romig. RSVP to Howard Hallman at Future1946@yahoo.com. The third and final meeting of our series will be June 23, “Protecting Our Water Legacy,” 11:30 to 1:30 p.m. with a lunch meeting at CMC Breck Campus.
