Frisco to hold community plan meetings set for Wednesday nights

On Wednesday, the Town of Frisco will commence a series of six community forums to create the Frisco Community Plan: an update to the town’s comprehensive plan. Each forum will be held at the Frisco Day Lodge at the peninsula recreation area. The forums will be held on Wednesday nights starting this week and continuing through June 22.

This year, the update aims to be different than what has been done in the past. It includes community discussions on what is community, why Frisco, and what it means to be a local.

There will also be a community dinner celebration. The goal of the six forums is to identify common shared values and establish shared quality-of-life policy statements, which will be used to connect, sustain, and create the future of the Town of Frisco. In order to maximize community involvement, the meetings will feature a variety of different approaches including keynote speakers, videos and group discussions.

Frisco’s comprehensive plan is an advisory document that presents a concise community vision for the future of Frisco and establishes realistic strategies for achieving that vision. The plan is updated every five years. After the six community forums conclude this summer, the final plan will be scheduled for adoption by the Frisco Town Council. Once adopted, the Frisco Community Plan will be used to provide direction to elected and appointed officials, community members and staff.

Additional info on the plan can be found at along with the 2005 version. For more info, contact Ryan McGee at (970) 668-9131 or
