Frisco to hold town cleanup day

Nikki Harper/Town of Frisco
The town of Frisco’s annual cleanup day will be Saturday, May 30, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., according to a town news release.
Volunteers can check in at 9 a.m. in front of the Frisco Historic Park on Frisco Main Street between 1st and 2nd Avenues and request to be assigned to a cleanup area or select an area themselves. The check-in area will have free coffee and snacks, and volunteers are encouraged to bring a reusable mug for the coffee.
For the cleanup, volunteers will receive gloves, safety vests and trash bags. They will also receive tickets for prize drawings, lunch and two free non-alcoholic drinks or beers for those over 21.
The lunch will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the historic park, and DJ Landry will provide live music during the picnic.
Businesses can donate gift certificates or other items for the prize drawings or food for the volunteer appreciation lunch. Doing so will get the business name added to a thank you poster at the event. They can drop off their donation at Frisco Town Hall or email Events@townoffrisco.com to arrange pickup by noon May 28.
The High Country Conservation Center and the Summit County Resource Allocation Park are also hosting an event from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. the same day at the Summit Stage Bus Barn — 0222 County Shops Road — where residents can drop off hard-to-recycle items, like vape devices, medications, electronic waste, batteries, pesticides and more. Those sorts of items can also be dropped off at the landfill when it is open Monday through Saturday.
