Frisco tree removal deadline at hand

DAILY NEWS STAFF REPORT

FRISCO ” The deadline for removing beetle-infested trees is coming up, with property owners responsible for getting the work done by May 16.

An October 2007 survey found 4,575 infested trees both on town-owned and private land. Almost 600 trees on town-owned land have been infested, with more than 270 of them on the Peak One Parcel alone. Trees that need to be removed are marked with a pink circle.

The Town is requiring property owners to chop down and dispose of infected trees. Owners can use the infected wood for firewood, but it must be completely wrapped in plastic until it’s used for fire.

Questions or concerns can be addressed to Karla Bastidas at the Frisco Police Department at (970) 668-3579, ext. 3058, or karlab@townoffrisco.com.
