FRISCO — Starting Wednesday, Dec. 18, the Frisco Nordic Center will host the first race of their second annual Up & At ‘Em Ski Race Series. The series will include five Nordic races at 7 a.m. on Wednesdays in December, January and February. The Dec. 18, Jan. 22 and Feb. 19 races will be skate skiing races and the Jan. 8 and Feb. 5 races will be classic skiing races.

“The community support that we saw for Up & At ‘Em races last year made it clear that a race series at 7 a.m. on Wednesdays made a lot of sense,” Linsey Joyce, recreation programs manager for the Frisco Nordic Center, said in a statement. “Folks want to get in a race and a good workout before heading to work. We have also seen lots of folks using these races to start getting ready for other races like the 50th Annual Frisco Gold Rush on Feb. 8.”

Preregistration for the race is $20, day-of registration is $25 and participants who register for the entire series — which costs a total of $80 — by Jan. 8, 2020 will receive a custom Frisco Nordic Center Mountainsmith Basic Cube bag. While ski rentals are not included in registration, all racers can rent skis for $10. There will be a post-race breakfast that features a giveaway.
