Fundraiser set for Chris Ferris

BRECKENRIDGE – A fundraiser will be held Sunday at the Dredge Restaurant and Bar in Breckenridge to benefit the family of Chris Ferris, who died Jan. 23 at the age of 36.He was born Nov. 29, 1968, in San Jose, Calif. He graduated from Gunn High School in Palo Alto, Calif., and attended college for two years. Ferris moved to Breckenridge in 1989, opening A Big Hit snowboard shop. He leaves behind his wife, Larkin, daughter Quaylyn Rose and an unborn child.The benefit will be held from 3-7 p.m. The $25 admission fee – $10 for young adults, most of whom knew Ferris from his snowboard store – includes beer, wine, food, music and pool and Foosball tournaments.A silent auction and raffle will also be held.Cash donations can also be made to the Ferris Family Foundation at the WestStar Bank in Breckenridge.For more information, call Amanda Smith at (970) 389-2199.
