Fundraiser Thursday for Copper employee Dave Poole


A fundraiser will be held Thursday for a Copper Mountain employee who was paralyzed from the belly button down while skiing at the mountain last month.On Jan. 22, Dave Poole, 21, was injured on the mountain while skiing, and subsequently has incurred significant medical expenses.He was in his third season working in lift operations and snowmaking at the mountain.His friends will hold a benefit for Poole from 4:30 to 8 p.m. at Grand Hall at the base of the Super Bee Lift. Poole, who is undergoing rehabilitation at Craig Hospital in Englewood, will attend the fundraiser, which will include a raffle, silent auction and entertainment from a live DJ.All proceeds will go to Poole to help with his medical bills and to help with the purchase of a monoski so he can get back on the hill.
