Fundraiser tonight for land mine survivors

The International Baccalaureate students at Summit High School are hosting “Night of 1000 Dinners,” tonight from 6-8 p.m. at the Silverthorne Pavilion as a fundraiser for the Landmine Survivors Network (LSN). There will be music and great food. The speaker will be Rick White, board member of LSN and the brother of Jerry White, co-founder and executive director of the organization.LSN works worldwide to locate land mine survivors and provide them with prosthetics, equipment such as wheelchairs, and assistance to return to the work force. International Baccalaureate students nationwide work toward the ideal of “Local Roots/Global Branches” by participating in fundraising for LSN and other landmine organizations. Our students at SHS hope to raise $2,000 for LSN this year.Tickets for the fundraising event are $12 and can be purchased by contacting any IB student, Christy Reinking or Nanci Morse at (970) 547-9311. If you cannot attend the event but would like to contribute, money can also be donated through any IB student or by mail to SHS – “IB Night of 1000 Dinners.”
