Galleries, artists wanted for summer sculpture show

BRECKENRIDGE – The Summit County Arts Council (SCAC) is sponsoring the first Breckenridge Outdoor Sculpture Show this summer.

Ten to 15 outdoor sculptures will be placed at the Riverwalk Center from June 28 until Sept. 9.

Applications by Summit County artists and galleries will be juried by the SCAC and one member of the Breckenridge Public Arts Commission. There will be a maximum of two pieces per artist and three pieces per gallery. Media may include bronze, metal, ceramic and wood. Themes may range from abstract to traditional. Each local artist and gallery selected will be required to be a member in good standing of the SCAC (annual memberships fee is $25 for individuals, $50 for businesses).

The SCAC must receive applications by no later than May 21. Applications must include:

n Properly labeled slides or prints of work to be shown

n Description of work in progress if no slides or prints are available,

n Information regarding the size and material of work to be shown

n An artist’s bio, contact information and any local gallery representation.
