Gallery stroll in Breckenridge includes music, demos

BRECKENRIDGE ” The second annual Kingdom ArtWalk will take place on Saturday from noon to 7 p.m. The gallery stroll, featuring live music and refreshments at the participating galleries, will be from 4-6 p.m.

Musicians performing include guitarist Amy Mathesius, vibraphone player Steve Immer, guitarist Josh Galvin, guitarist and trumpet players Maria Morley and Trevor, and harpist Sarah Schmidt.

Galleries participating will be marked with blue balloons. Take a look on Saturday into Breckenridge’s Art on a Whim, Arts Alive, Belleville Gallerie, Breckenridge Fine Art Gallery, Breckenridge Gallery, Breckenridge Theatre Gallery, Fox Ridge Gallery, Hang Time, Hibberd McGrath and The Photo Shop.



Also going on during the artwalk: The Breckenridge Public Art Commission will be in the Blue River Plaza from 2-4 p.m. giving tours of the Sculpture on the Blue outdoor sculpture show.

The Plein Air Painters of Colorado will be painting around town all day with an exhibition at the Fuqua Livery Stable, at 110 E. Washington Ave., in the early evening. Galleries will have artist demonstrations throughout the day.



The Kingdom ArtWalk on Saturday will include the opening reception for a locals-only art exhibit showing at the Breckenridge Theatre Gallery.

Artists include Leona Sophocles- Brownson and her paintings, Todd Powell’s photography, Chaz della Porta’s sculpture, John Hudnut’s glass, Maria Morley’s sculpture and Steuart Bremner’s sculpture and drawings. The public is invited to the opening reception, 4-6 p.m. Saturday, to meet the artists and view the work.
