Gas price in Germany is better than printed

I can understand the frustration of the German torching his BMW (SDN, June 29), but you might want to check your math regarding the price of fuel in Germany. It is roughly $1.55 per liter. According to my higher level math skills (multiplying and dividing), that comes out to around $5.87 per gallon, not the $9.20 stated in your article.

This probably wasn’t a gigantic financial loss for the guy. Do you know what a 13 year-old 3-series BMW is worth?
