Girls rugby goes formal for cancer

The Summit High School girl’s rugby team will be holding a fundraiser “Prom Dress” Rugby game at Climax Molybdenum Field at Tiger Stadium on today at 2:30 p.m. The match will feature the 2012 state champions playing an exhibition match in their prom dresses from the night before and is part of the team’s build up to the 2013 National Championships in Racine, Wisc., May 16-19.

The game, sponsored by Cameez Frozen Yogurt and Coffee Bar in Frisco, is also an opportunity for the team to help raise many to fight cancer. All proceeds from the game will go to the Shaw Regional Cancer Center in Edwards. Shaw Regional Cancer Center provides high-quality, compassionate cancer care that’s close to home, and sponsors many events to help fight cancer through awareness and fundraising including Pink Vail, “the World’s biggest ski day to conquer cancer.”
