A new website offers one-stop access to several tools for folks traveling through the Interstate 70 mountain corridor.

Data such as road conditions and speeds, driving directions, weather information and snow reports – ordinarily found on different websites – are combined on a map at http://www.GoI70.com.

The I-70 Mountain Corridor Coalition launched the website, now available through a beta-test version, to also connect people aiming to share rides, anecdotes and more. Photos, video and even lodging deals can be found through the site.

The site offers travel blogs advising holiday travelers from Summit County to postpone travel to Denver until 6 p.m. to avoid bumper-to-bumper traffic.

Summit Daily is embarking on a multiyear project to digitize its archives going back to 1989 and make them available to the public in partnership with the Colorado Historic Newspapers Collection. The full project is expected to cost about $165,000. All donations made in 2023 will go directly toward this project.

Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference.
