Gold Pan Saloon
The Gold Pan has Been Serving Miners since 1879…
Legend has it that in 1861, on this very spot Long’s Saloon was open for business, likely pushing Taos White Lightning (a style of whiskey that may have been stretched with tobacco, red pepper, lye and other dangerous chemicals.)The saloon was a tent structure at the time. It was around 1879 that the permanent Saloon structure, now the Gold Pan, was built and by 1880 there were 18 saloons lining the streets of Breckenridge waiting and hoping for their chance to see GOLD.
130 Plus Years Later…
Today, locals and visitors alike come to the Gold Pan Saloon for the camaraderie, to tell a few ski stories, listen to music, fill their bellies and enjoy libations. So come on in, warm your toes around the pot belly stove, have a drink and enjoy a piece of Breckenridge’s history. We feel honored to be considered “the oldest operating bar in Summit County and one of Colorado’s Oldest & Finest.”
