Good probability of High Country snow this weekend

Local snow expert Joel Gratz is optimistic that the mountains will see snow this weekend. Gratz, who had given a preliminary prediction of snow, said on his blog at OpenSnow.com that there is a fair probability that areas at high altitude, or above 10,000 feet, will see snow, with a chance that towns as low as 8,000 feet could see some now as well. The best chance for snow, Gratz said, is on late Friday and from Sunday through Monday, with much of the state seeing at least some cold weather and moisture.

The early snow would be welcome to Summit County, which is experiencing extreme drought.
