Grand jury to investigate disappearance of 6-year-old girl

AURORA – Police and prosecutors said Thursday a grand jury will investigate the disappearance of 6-year-old Aarone Thompson, who was reported missing from her home in November.Investigators have said they believe the girl is dead. Her body has not been found.Police Chief Daniel Oates and District Attorney Carol Chambers did not say whether they expect the grand jury to indict any specific person.In the past, police have said Aarone’s father, Aaron Thompson, and his girlfriend, Shely Lowe, were “persons of interest” in the case, but they declined to use that term Thursday.
