Grand Lodge on Peak 7 hosts annual blood drive May 5

Grand Lodge on Peak 7 will host its annual blood drive for The Children’s Hospital on Wednesday, May 5, from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Breck Inn (11078 N. Hwy. 9 in Breck) to help replenish their blood supply. The blood drive is part of the “Giving Pints for Half-pints” summer challenge, encouraging healthy individuals in the community to donate blood on behalf of hospital.

Every year at The Children’s Hospital, 8,000 units of blood products are transfused into sick and injured infants, children and teens. Without this blood, many of the lifesaving procedures performed at the hospital would not be possible. One blood donation can help save the lives of up to four patients.

Giving blood is simple and safe. Donors must be at least 17 years old, in good health and must weigh at least 110 pounds. The entire process takes approximately 45 minutes from the mini-physical to refreshments. Call Kelly Sanders at Grand Lodge (970) 453-3594 to schedule a donation appointment.
