Green Mountain visitors should be upset

The residents of Heeney and the Green Mountain area have every right to be upset about the changes in management policy at the trailheads and campground. These facilities are owned by the American people and administered by the U.S. Forest Service for the public’s use. The cost of maintaining such facilities has previously been taken out of the taxes we paid, a long established practice of maintaining the public’s property for public use. The current press to shrink federal government and privatize services has gutted this system. Who did you vote for?
