Groneman deserves your vote

Kathy Lunceford

There may be misconceptions circulating around Silverthorne regarding a new elementary school and the mayoral election. There is no guarantee of what the future will bring and what the time line for building a school would be because there are many variables in the equation. There are many things to be worked out and approved within the town and many issues to be worked out between the town and the school district.

No one person, no matter what his or her position, can absolutely influence the outcome. Town government and town council are a collaborative effort.

A mayor only has a vote when a tie occurs in council. No one person can take credit for the successes of the town of Silverthorne in the last few years. To publicly claim personal credit for any project points out the arrogance and lack of respect for the voters.

This amounts to spinning facts by an individual or group to achieve personal or political ends. It is the responsibility of any elected official to listen to the voting public and not influence any decision to fit his or her own agenda.

Sheila Groneman is strongly committed to children and their education.

When the mill levy was proposed, Sheila supported the levy and the new school in Silverthorne. Sheila has supported Target, Willowbrook Highlands, The Ponds, and Retreat on the Blue. Your vote on May 7 will impact your life in Silverthorne for years to come. Be sure that the information you have heard is true and accurate.

If you want a mayor who will listen to your views and concerns with an open mind, who will treat you with honesty and respect, who will not manipulate the facts to further his or her own agenda, then Sheila Groneman should be your choice for mayor.
