Guard helicopter makes precautionary landing during training
DENVER – A Colorado National Guard helicopter was forced to make a precautionary landing Friday during a standard training mission in Eagle County, officials said.The UH-1 “Huey” developed some sort of mechanical problem, said Guard spokesman Capt. Robert Bell.Spokesman 2nd Lt. Darin Overstreet said no injuries were reported among the four crew members on board, but they were undergoing routine medical reviews.Overstreet said a second helicopter picked up the Huey’s crew after the landing about 14 miles west of Eagle.
