‘Gypsy’ auditions next week

DILLON – The Lake Dillon Theatre is holding open auditions Monday, June 19 from 6-9 p.m. for their free August performance of the classic musical, “Gypsy.”Actors are asked to prepare two 32-measure songs – one from the play and another of the actor’s choice. A pianist will be provided and actors will be expected to read from the script and dance. Roles are available for people ages 7 to 90. The rehearsal schedule will be announced after the cast is chosen. “Gypsy” is loosely based on the memoirs of Gypsy Rose Lee, the famous striptease artist. It focuses on her struggle with her mother, Mama Rose, the quintessential show business mother.
