Hallman: Stop contesting the election

Tim Ehlers, Salem, Ore.

Silverthorne Town Councilmember Howard Hallman, let it go.

Why do you and others within the community of Silverthorne want to keep the town divided and make the division about the grocery store shopping center issue even worse.

The votes were counted, and now, recounted with the same result. As a former town employee, as I read the articles concerning the Safeway issue, I was glad that I was no longer there having to work under your leadership within the council.

Maybe you should think about removing yourself from your position on council as I can see only division amongst the members as they try to guide policy for the town and its future.

Your agenda when elected was to limit or shut down growth, and unfortunately you will not be able to do that, so I guess the next best way is to just be a thorn in the side of the town staff of its citizens.

The vote is in, move forward, remember the citizens got that chance to vote on the issue and they voted yes. Good luck.
