Here’s the Halloween activities happening in Summit County

Curtis DeVore/ Breckenridge Backstage Theatre
Summit has its fair share of spooky, and some not so spooky, Halloween activities for people of all ages.
Whether people are looking for a daytime pumpkin wagon ride or nighttime haunted houses, there’s something in Summit to give everyone their Halloween fix.
Breckenridge
“The Haunting of Breck Theatre”
For those looking for an immersive experience, Breckenridge Backstage Theatre will be presenting “The Haunting of Breck Theatre” through Oct. 26. Producing artistic director Jacqueline Stone said the theater brought on guest artist Harrison Farmer to adapt classic Halloween tales from Brothers Grimm, including Little Red Riding Hood, and to direct the theatrical experience.
Stone said Farmer’s adaptation of the tales seeks to put people inside the stories themselves. Attendees will interact with different fairytale characters as they work toward a mission to help a witch. She said a storyteller, arts and crafts, and “spooky” cocktails and mocktails will also be offered on site.
Stone said the theater is offering two different immersive experiences, one for people who are more in the market for a spooky time and one for people who aren’t a fan of being spooked.

The afternoon sessions on Wednesdays to Fridays will be “rated G” while the nighttime Saturday and Sunday sessions will be “rated PG-13.”
“The biggest difference is really in the sensory experience for our daytime show. We turn up the lights and we turn the sound down and all of the characters are much friendlier for the kids,” she said. “In the evening, that experience has a lot of jump scares.”
