Have cars in handicapped spots announced in stores

Nancy MoreySilverthorne

Marc Carlisle wrote a great “On the Marc” column March 3 about people parking illegally in handicapped spots. But he needed to add that if you cannot (or don’t want to) “bang on the window,” or if the offending vehicle is empty, take down its license and take the time to give it to the customer service representatives of that store so they can announce that vehicle needs to be moved.I have also flagged down the Dillon community patrol car (if on premise) who will circle and confront the offenders when they return to their “monster SUV.”Customer service people should call this community patrol since the violation is on store property. This is a traffic offense in Colorado and is liable for a ticket. Thanks, Marc, for speaking out on this irritating issue. You are right on. I have had a family member and friends through the years who need these parking spaces. Meanwhile, locals, take lots of deep breaths, and we’ll all get through this particular form of March madness with no mishaps.
