Help needed to rebuild Georgetown playground

Daily News staff report

Georgetown resident Foster Knox Alspaugh was just a few days short of his third birthday when he died last spring. Now, in his memory, his parents – Kimberly Knox and former Frisco resident Darren Alspaugh – are rallying the community to rebuild the Georgetown City Park playground, where Foster spent a lot of his time. The rebuilding will help the park better serve the needs of kids of all ages and bring it up to code with the Americans with Disabilities Act. It will also fit in with Georgetown’s historic character. The project needs help from volunteers and to raise $140,000 to be completed during a five-day span, Sept. 15-19. There will be a fundraiser Sunday at the Georgetown City Park featuring a concert and barbecue. Call (303) 569-2676 for more information or to donate time or money, or e-mail
