Help raise money for breast cancer
Members of the Family & Intercultural Resource Center are teaming up to participate in the 2006 Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in Denver on June 24-25. For 2 days and 39 miles, team “Takin’ it to the Streets” will be walking in support of breast cancer medical research, access to treatment, support services, education, and screening and diagnostics. Beneficiaries range from local breast cancer support and care services to national research and education organizations.From June 9-16 the Summit Thrift & Treasure store, located at 340 Fiedler Ave. in Dillon, will donate 25 percent of store proceeds to the cause. People can also make individual donations at the store or online at http://www.avonfoundation.org. The four team members need to raise $1,800 apiece, so please donate to Christina Carlson, Karen Leonard, Elusia Andrus or Brianne Snow.For more information call (970) 262-3888.
