High Country Conservation Center C3 thanks Girl Scout Troop #2754

The High Country Conservation Center would like to thank the Silverthorne Junior Girl Scout Troop #2754 for volunteering to help educate their classmates about the new Compost in Schools program. The compost program was launched at Silverthorne Elementary on March 14 and has so far been a huge success; in part because of all the help from volunteers and their troop leaders! The food scraps collected from the school cafeteria will be turned into a nutrient-rich soil amendment, or compost, at the High Country Compost Facility. Thanks again to the girls for all their hard work and commitment to making their school green!
