High school classes, activities canceled

FARMER’S KORNER ” Classes and activities at Summit High School have been canceled today due to Monday’s wildfire that came within yards of the building.

A makeup date will be announced later, according to Karen Mason, spokesperson for the school district. Red, White and Blue Fire advised the district to cancel classes because smoke was lingering in the building and it could take 24 hours for the air to clear, Mason said.

This affects all Summit High School staff and students, and includes after school sports and activities. Events and classes for district middle school and elementary students will continue today as normal.
