High school seniors in Colorado encouraged to apply for Daniels Scholarship

The Daniels Fund is now accepting applications for scholarships to be awarded in spring 2012.

In establishing the Daniels Fund, cable pioneer Bill Daniels directed the Daniels Scholarship Program to seek out promising students who demonstrate strength of character, leadership potential, academic performance or promise, a well-rounded personality and the potential to contribute to their community.

Students must demonstrate financial need; Daniels Scholarships are not full-ride. Instead, they cover the unmet need of the student. The scholarship amount is determined after all other financial aid resources and an expected family contribution have been applied.

Students must be nominated by a referral agency, which includes all area high schools plus designated youth serving organizations. A list of those high schools and youth serving organizations is posted on the Daniels Fund website.

High school seniors in Colorado should ask their school counselors for information, or visit http://www.danielsfund.org. The application deadline is Nov. 30, 2011.
