Highway 6 through Clear Creek Canyon closed for road work

The Colorado Department of Transportation will close 11 miles of Highway 6 to all traffic through Clear Creek Canyon today for an extensive bridge rehabilitation project. The closure will continue for approximately three weeks.The project includes replacing the decks on three bridges, all built in 1950. The highway will be closed between the junction of Highway 93 in Golden and Highway 119, up the canyon.The closure begins today at 2 a.m. The scheduled re-opening is Oct. 3 at 2 a.m.
