Holiday Fund checks to be sent out

Later this week, the first round of Holiday Fund checks will be mailed to Summit County nonprofit agencies that benefit children and families.The Holiday Fund was established four years ago by the Summit Daily News and has become a tradition for the newspaper. Since its inception, more than $62,000 has been collected and 100 percent of the money collected is given to the different agencies.Checks will be mailed on Thursday from the Summit Foundation, which administers the fund on behalf of the Summit Daily News, to the following organizations:• Family Intercultural Resource Center, $3,500• Summit County Early Childhood Connections, $1,000• Timberline Adult Day Care, $1000• Salvation Army, $1,000• Summit County Law Enforcement Adopt at Angel, $1,200• Bristlecone Health Services, $1,000• Little Red Schoolhouse, $1,150• Community Care Clinic, $1,150The newspaper will continue to collection donations through January 3.You can mail your donation to Holiday Fund, Summit Daily News, PO Box 329, Frisco, CO 80443.Donations can also be made in person at the newspaper offices at 40 W. Main St., in Frisco. And if you would like to make a donation with a credit card, please call the newspaper at (970) 668-3998 and talk with Jackie at extension 13111 or Lindsey at extension 13112.Donors can also designate a specific agency to receive their gift.
