Homeowners group did notsupport Intrawest as reported

As former and current board members for the Woods/Legends Homeowners Association (HOA), as well as full-time residents here at Copper, my wife and I attended the April 17 dinner of the Property Owners and Lessees Association (POLA) hosted by Intrawest.

Gary Harmsen, as the POLA president, asked for a unanimous vote in support of the Intrawest development plan.

Five of us refused to support the plan and four of us spoke against it at the dinner. We voiced concern over the proposed density, the fact that the resort doesn’t even fill the beds already built, the lack of clarity for any development in the eastern (Alpine lift and Super Bee) area, parking and the effect of development on the golf course and wetlands.

There was no unanimity of support by the Copper homeowners associations that make up the POLA in the matter of Intrawest’s development plan – as was indicated in Harmsen’s May 10 letter to the editor.
