Horse Cents Thrift Store sale today-Saturday

Daily News staff report

If you have not already visited Horse Cents Thrift Store, located on Warren Avenue in Silverthorne’s Industrial Park, mark it on your calendar to do so today through Saturday. The store plans to sell any items regularly priced under $10 for just one dollar each. Horse Cents carries a large selection of clothing items and accessories as well as books, movies and CD’s, housewares, small pieces of furniture, jewelry and artwork.

Horse Cents, owned and operated by Swan Center Outreach Inc. (SCO), a Summit County 501(c)3 nonprofit, opened in January when the group thought it wise to lessen its dependence on grant awards and focus more on developing ways to provide for themselves financially. Hopes are that the thrift store will soon generate enough profits to totally care for the horses and other animals used in the organization’s programs. The dollar sale will run all day today through 4 p.m. on Saturday. To visit Horse Cents from Highway 9 in Silverthorne, go three blocks west on 3rd Street, turn left on Warren Avenue, go around the curve in the road and look for the horse in the window on the left.
