Housing authority homeowner class is Aug. 24

Summit Combined Housing Authority series of new post-homebuyer education classes continues from noon-1 p.m. August 24 with the Lunch-n-Learn Homeowner series. Held in the Mount Royal Room at the County Commons in Frisco, the upcoming workshop – “Do you know your Loan? Is it time to refinance?” – will cover the following topics:> What does it mean to refinance? What steps are involved?> Interest rates – where they are today, compared to when your closing happened> Why would I refinance if I have a 30-year fixed loan product? Why would I refinance if I have a 10-year ARM and am only a couple of years into it?> When will my PMI/MIP fall off … or will it? Other things I should know about PMI?> Closing costs on the refinancing process – when does it make sense?This workshop will be led by three lenders, all experts in their fields: Paula Ramey Stjernholm with Cherry Creek Mortgage; Jennifer Cleary with Colorado State Bank & Trust; and Dan Cooper with FirstBank of Summit CountyParticipants should bring their loan closing documents, along with any questions they may have about their current loan, the refinancing process, etc. The class is free, and lunch and refreshments will be served.
