Housing Authority kicks off summer homeowner series

The Summit Combined Housing Authority has announced a new Homeowner Lunch-N-Learn Summer Series. This new monthly learning opportunity for local homeowners will begin Friday, June 15, at the Mount Royal Room, County Commons, Frisco. All classes run from noon to 1 p.m., and lunch and refreshments will be served.

Dates and topics for the series include:

Thinking about Selling your Home – June 15

Includes getting ready, knowing the market, contacting a realtor, costs of selling a home and short sales and foreclosures

Dare to Repair – July 20

Focus on hands-on basic maintenance and repair, tools and repairs such as fixing a leaking faucet, a running toilet and how to caulk

Do you know your loan? – Aug. 24

Includes reviewing terms of the loan, prepayment penalties and dealing with mortgage adjustments. Plus refinancing, insurance overview and escrows

Financial Fitness – Sept. 21

Preparing for the future (college, retirement), how owning a home fits into the equation, investment strategies, budget review for investing
